Frontside is pleased to announce The Envy has become the newest addition to our roster; they are also the first band to be signed to Gene Simmons (KISS) Canadian record label Simmons/Universal Records. Their self-titled debut album will be out this Fall and they'll be hitting the road this Summer as they embark on a tour with KISS starting July 23rd.
Here’s what Gene Simmons has to say about these Canadian boys: “The guys are multitalented, multi faceted, they can write and sing their own songs, perform great.”
JUNE 18, 2010 FRONTSIDE CLIENTS ON THE LONG LIST FOR THE 2010 POLARIS MUSIC PRIZES
This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Polaris Music Prize, which awards $20,000 to the best Canadian full- length album that was released between June, 1 2009 and May, 31 2010. On June 17th 2010 the Polaris Music Prize Long List was announced by Steve Jordan, Prize Founder and Executive Director. The Long List consists of 40 albums that had been voted on by the 198 members of the Polaris Music Prize Jury.
Our congratulations go out to all of the nominees, especially Frontside artists Crystal Castles, The New Pornographers, Hawksley Workman and You Say Party!. The Polaris Jury will now vote on the list of 40 albums to determine the 10 albums that will be on the Polaris Music Prize Short List. The Short List will be announced on July 6 at the Drake Hotel in Toronto and broadcast live across Canada and the U.S. on SIRUS Satellite Radio Canada’s CBC Radio 3 channel 86. The winner of the 2010 Polaris Music Prize will be announced on September 20th at Toronto’s Masonic Temple.
May 4th marked the release of Eric Solomon's new EP, Antarctica, 7 songs of all-original material that follow months of buzz and success surrounding his remixes of Passion Pit, Owl City, and The xx. Eric Solomon's newest EP demonstrates his development as a musician, songwriter, and person. With soulful electronic synth pop driving every song and the help of Dave "Rave" Ogilvie (NIN, Tool, Skinny Puppy), Antarctica builds upon the creativity that has been praised by the likes of Arjan Writes and Rolling Stone Online. Be on the lookout for Canadian and international tour dates in the near future, and check out Eric Solomon's newest masterpiece by clicking the image below.

APRIL 13, 2010 FRONTSIDE: BRINGING THE HEAT AND READY TO GO!
As the weather heats up outside, things are heating up at Frontside! We are pleased two announce two new additions to the Frontside roster: Hot Hot Heat and OK Go!
Recently signed to Dine Alone Records in Canada (Alexisonfire, Arkells, City and Colour), one of the country's most notable independent labels, Hot Hot Heat deliver an infectious brand of dancey indie rock that Frontside will be bringing to radio stations near you. The Victoria, BC group has a long history of hits both in Canada and internationally, including "Bandages," "Middle Of Nowhere," and "Goodnight Goodnight" (to name a few), and their forthcoming album Future Breeds will surely build upon the band's continued success.
Remember this video, when using a treadmill became an Olympic sport? OK Go was one of the first bands to perfect the viral video, and they continue to display their genius with two versions of their most recent single, "This Too Shall Pass": the Rube Goldberg Machine version and the marching band version. The album on which this single can be found, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, debuted at #2 on iTunes and #40 on Billboard, receiving rave reviews from critics. The undeniable catchiness and quality of the band's music has deservingly made them one of the most licensed artists of the 21st century, placing them into Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and various EA Sports video games, as well as commercials for Nike and Shrek, and multiple TV shows and movies.
2010 has been - and will continue to be - a big year for both Hot Hot Heat and OK Go, and we are excited to share it with them. Please join us in welcoming these artists to the Frontside family, and we look forward to what the rest of the year has in store. Stay tuned!

MARCH 10, 2010 FRONTSIDE RADIO .com FORGES A USER FRIENDLY RADIO MUSIC HUB
Vancouver, BC – The Frontside Promotions Group is pleased to kick off Canadian Music week 2010 with the launch of their new B2B radio music hub www.frontsideradio.com. Powered by the Berlin, Germany based Soundcloud.com, the new hub offers radio programmers, simple one-touch opportunities to preview and download songs for airplay, schedule interviews, access concert listings and more. In addition it provides Frontside's partner Artists, Managers and Labels with a clear, uniform way to present themselves to radio.
“We wanted to simplify the lives of Music Directors across Canada” said Frontside's Gary McDonald, adding “what we've built is a straightforward, easy to maneuver hub that will allow radio folks to find out about our client's music and download broadcast quality WAV files without the need for bulky, slow-moving sites or yet another password they won't be able to remember”.
In addition to allowing music to be previewed and downloaded, the site will offer:
Concert listings for some of Canada's top touring artists, all searchable by date, city or artist
Simple to complete interview request forms for both 'phoners' and in-station visits. Eliminating the need for numerous 'back and forth' communications between the involved parties
Information sorted according to radio format, so MD's won't have to wade through hundreds of irrelevant titles to find music that's suitable for their specific station
A weekly, format specific, video presentation of the hottest singles, complete with up to the minute, relevant information about chart positions, tour dates, TV appearances and more
An archive of every song serviced through the site
Secure, non 'google-able' links to releases that require additional security
Coming Soon: 1-Touch MusicMaster integration
The website is live now in BETA form, and will be tweaked in the days to come as feedback comes in from MD's and PD's across the country.
The Frontside Promotions Group is a full service music promotions firm that works with numerous artists, managers and labels from Canada, the USA and Europe.

Frontside's Vince Ditrich, artist manager and drummer of Canadian folk rock band http://www.sotw.ca/">Spirit of the West, recently took part in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, but you probably didn't catch him on TV. On February 17, Vince stepped into the recording studio with Spirit of the West, Cape Breton fiddler Ashley MacIsaac, and "The Snow Leopard" himself, Kwame Nkrumah Acheampong, to co-write, record, and produce the song "Dreams," which has become "The Snow Leopard's" Olympic theme song.
For those unfamiliar with Kwame's inspirational story, he is Ghana's one-man Olympic team, competing in the slalom and giant slalom events. "Dreams" will be available for download through the iTunes Store, and proceeds will help fund his Olympic bid as well as future training.
Congratulations, Vince, for all of your hard work on this track and for having the opportunity to partake in such a great cause!
